    SQL Management Studio Licensing

We have been trying to figure out the licensing requirements for SQL Management Studio. We currently have a SQL Standard Edition (2 processor license). We would like to install the Management Studio on a number IT computers. The problem is that I have found conflicting information from...

    SP2

I’m currently having trouble with SP2. We are not able to use WPAD for automatic browser configurations. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Microsoft today. They couldn’t figure it out. I sent them a copy of the XML configuration and they are going to build a test lab with it and SP2. Funny...

    portmap translation creation failed!

I found out that the reason for this error message was due to the PAT (nat (local) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0)). If I take this entry out, then the local LAN cannot access the Internet. My question is: How can I leave this PAT entry in the config and still be able to use the NAT entry for 192.168.0.11?

    portmap translation creation failed!

I’m trying to connect a server in a DMZ on the PIX and be able to have the local LAN reach it using a local address. I setup the NAT to allow any communication from the local interface (192.168.0.x) destined for IP 192.168.0.11 to be mapped to the server in the DMZ (10.1.2.2). If I try to...

Although the PIX 501 would work, I was trying to stay below $200.

    Site-to-Site Router

Thanks NetworkGhost. I looked on Netgear's website and that router is marked for EOL. I've researched the FVS318v3 last night and found that people were torn between liking and disliking/hating the router. Like many other cheap VPN routers, it has it flaws. Does anyone have an FVS318v3...

    Site-to-Site Router

Can anyone suggest a decent inexpensive VPN router (Linksys, NetGear, etc.) that will allow some of my remote users to establish a sit-to-site VPN connection to our PIX 515? I would like to install a VoIP phone (Cisco 7940) at each of these locations. Although the IP Communicator is nice, they...
