IP office 406 & POTS extension ringing problems

Hi TheTaker Thanks for the advice, I will check this out, all our analogue phones have the master pbx (RJ45 to BT Phone) adapters, in fact because of the problem we had I actually swapped them all out for new ones. I will measure the voltage and see what I get. We all the same phones (BT Dect...

IP office 406 & POTS extension ringing problems

I have an IP office 406 v2 (UK) with a 16 port analog extension unit (from previous argent office system but upgraded to latest firmware) most extensions work fine, however some of them do not ring correctly or never ring at all no matter what type of analog phone (real basic one or dect phone)...

Extension in use # to register sonicwall vpn timeout

This sometimes happens on a VPN setup when the VPN connection drops and then reconnects. I am not sure about a workaround but if you press the # key and press it again to accept the extension and the phone then asks about unregister use and press # again and then it should log on again. I...

    Discover on Ip Phones

TC To access the CLI interface on the FVX538 just use telnet. Eg, if the router LAN address is 10.0.0.1 then in a dos window type telnet followed by return then type open 10.0.0.1 and press return you are then asked for your login and password (same as the web access page and you are now in...

    Problem with VPN

Hi NewbieTC I will keep an eye on this thread, I am also speaking to Netgear about the issue so hopefully this will speed things up, although my past experience with netgear support has not been that great.... We shall wait and see...

    Problem with VPN

One interesting thing I noticed with the 538 is that if I create a VPN with from remote to the 538 you cannot access the 538 internal web admin page however if I create the VPN with 2 114 units I can then access the 538 internal web address as if I was in the LAN, very strange, it seems that...

    Discover on Ip Phones

I have had success with 2 fvx114 netgear routers, but was unsuccessful with their top of the line FVX538 unit. I would guess by the sounds of it you are having the same problem I had, the conversation with the IP phone was one way only, ie the gateway could not talk back to the phone. One way...

    Problem with VPN

My VPN from home to office which was using netgear routers, FVX114 at remote end and an FVX538 (so called flagship 200VPN connection model) at the office end. I could never get passed the Extension in use problem. I suspected the FVX538 was at fault so I installed an additional router on the...

    Setup VOIP without VPN

Just to update you, I installed an FVX114 netgear router onto the office LAN to act as the VOIP router for the remote users and it works like a charm, IP phone connected immediately and call quality is A1, so there is definately an issue with the FVX538 so called flagship model, I used exactly...

    Problem with VPN

I am having the same issue. I have a VPN setup between an FV114 at the remote end and FVX538 at the office end, I suspect it is my 538 unit that is at fault so I am going to try 2 x fv114 routers and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

    Setup VOIP without VPN

One thing that leads me to think it is the FVX538 is that within the diag page of this router it fails to ping the remote router although I can ping the remote router from any other PC on the office LAN that is connected to the 538 unit. On the IP office if I run SYS log when I connect the...

    Setup VOIP without VPN

My personal view is the 538 is causing the problem, I think I will try a VPN between two fv114 units. On the remote end the IP assigments are 192.168.0.x and at the office end 10.0.0.x I can ping everything both ways via the VPN, email etc work, the phone gets the TFTP info, and in the office...

    Setup VOIP without VPN

Hi ronromano Interested to hear you have a successful VOIP connection using the FV114 router, I am trying the same thing between a fv114 and fvx538 netgear router, but I cannot get past the point of the extension in use, I have deleted the extension and also added a new extension but still no...
