    Thanks for your time. I figured it out. For some reason i had to log on under root? I never had to do that before for updates but that is the solution.

    I am using 10.3.2 on a G4. This is the thing though ... we have 3 G4's in our department and 2 G5's all operating under OSX 10.3.2. The G5's are fine all the G4's are having this problem. Anything else that you could suggest to try first other then reinstalling?
