    Hi, This data is definately in the log - it may be difficult to find but its in there somewhere. I found that so many accounts were causing problems that I no longer even try to back this area up - I just back up the mdbdata relating to the emails. Nick

    i cannot open the job history - and part of the backup does do exchange but I do not know whether it fails on the mailbox part...

    Thanks for the response steve - I have the logging at summary only (lowest amount of info), and still cannot open the log, it just freezes for about 10 mins then gives the error, and gives a blank log.

    I receive this error after 513 gb have been backed up so kind of near the end. I then get the error alert via email The backup of the item is bad, so I go to the job log to get a better look. I cant open the job log, it gives an error of cannot open the job log, and brings up a blank log screen...

    Hi, FYI this problem was caused by one bad sector on one of the hard disks, having formatted and done a disk check it now works. The disk was still viewable so didnt think about a bad sector issue, but having formatted it now works fine. I may make the format and checkdisk part of the weekly...
