html code changes during Solution Rebuild

I carefully set up the html code associated with an .aspx file only to have it trashed whenever I do a solution rebuild. This happens when I'm embedding an object in the page - basically the URL to the object keeps being reset to a local host location... This is inconvenient when I'm targeting...

Using Shockwave in Asp.net web application

Nobody wins the bounty this week! The problem was with IIS 6.0 - it had no MIME type listing for ".cct" files. Something to remember! Thanks for all input.

Using Shockwave in Asp.net web application

Well your guess was right. The error must be dependent on server 2003 because it happened with the old version of IE on a different client. So now the search begins....

Using Shockwave in Asp.net web application

You're absolutely right. The problem is not dependent on ASP.net - so it's Server 2003 or the new funky version of Internet Explorer. I'm going to try to isolate it further by connecting a client with an older version of IE to the new 2003 server and see if it works. Thanks, Jay

Using Shockwave in Asp.net web application

Hey vbkris - Thanks for answering. I have been over the IE settings again and again, mostly trying to be sure that activex material is allowed or "enabled" as much as possible. This problem is really a thorn in my side. I would be willing to reward anyone who can lead me to an answer - say...

Using Shockwave in Asp.net web application

I've been using shockwave in asp.net web pages for 2 years now - with everything working grand. But recently I added a Windows 2003 Server and xp pro machine. All my previous application from 2000 Server work fine except for one major thing! Linked external files are not being recognized by...

    .dcr fails in 2003 LAN

I have a problem with a .DCR file that was once playing, and is now not playing. I changed nothing in the code. I just moved the application from 2000 Server to 2003 Server. What happens is that the Macromedia Shockwave place holder displays, but nothing else

Dual installations of xp pro on same box

OK - I removed the offending line from "boot.ini" and every thing is great - bypasses completely the whole "select an operating system..." thing and goes directly where I want it. Then I chose to remove the excess partition - it changed to being labeled "Unallocated" - rebooted and everything...

Dual installations of xp pro on same box

Right - I switched the default - so now the first (highlighted) choice IS the correct one. Should I now delete the line I don't need in the "boot.ini" file and remove the partition I don't want?

Dual installations of xp pro on same box

Indeed - at boot there are two choices given, both saying "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" - the one I want is NOT the default... I press the arrow key for the 2nd choice. That is to say, the OS i want appears to be in partition(2). So I would like to reclaim the wasted space in...

Dual installations of xp pro on same box

Thanks krenkey - Here are the contents of my boot.ini file - [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect...

Dual installations of xp pro on same box

In a peak of frustration yesterday, I installed xp pro on my new xp pro dell machine (without overwriting). So now I have 2 installations of the same operating system. When I boot I can choose either of the installations - with the last installation being the default. I would like to remove...

What can I count on ? IE script host engine - common dialog object

I am developing asp.net application - want to use client-side VBscript to access the common dialog object (Save as, Open file). Actually have the script working just fine on my XPpro machine. But the problem comes when exposing the web application to clients with, say, Windows 98 operating...
