Thnaks for the response. I disconnected the IDE cable to the CD. The atapi error has not returned.but the workstations still hang intermittently. The server does not return any error messages for those hangs. Intel motherboard w/2 Western Digital hard drives, SATA, Raid Array.

This did work after running Spybot, but returned to the problem later. We tried reloading Excel and IE. That cleared the problem for a day or two. I emailed Microsoft and have had no reply. If you have any success I would appreciate your feedback.

After going through MS suggestions and having no change, I downloaded lastest Spybot which found and cleared the problem.
