drop shadow confusion (i'm really trying to understand)
I'm not sure why it is not working for you, however it is possible to apply a drop shadow to editable text. You can even apply it to text, and then change the text. :) One thing is that you must have the arrow tool selected. Sometimes you have to click off the box and back on, but it should...- singlewahm

Grayscale as K only
You can fix this in Photoshop. There is a particular color setting you can use where it will convert your black and white images properly, but if you accidently use it on color images they will look like ick. :) I don't have the settings handy right now, but it has something to do with using...- singlewahm

spot colours in Indesign pdfs
As long as the ink manager is not set up to convert spots to process at the time of pdf, it should make a pdf with spot colors without issue. Hope that helps, Shannon- singlewahm

Transparency question
