EMC Clariion CX600 without boot drives?

You can try "thehardwareexchange.com" they have helped me out in the past.

    FC5600 Dell 650F can't connect to

The SP can not read or find the operating system (flare) on the boot devices. Are the first 5 drives ready and do they contain the orininal OS from the machine?

Can you turn a DAE into a DPE?

Yes, this is possible. You would also need the flare drives installed in order to make it functional.

    Are SPS required for CX400

The cable is a standard null modem cable. You only need this connection if you don't know the IP setup of each SP. When you get in your SPS units they need to be connected to the SP's. You don't have to setup the FLARE it is self discovering for the most part.

    Drive swap on FC4700

Yes, you can move drives between units. With or without power applied. As long as they are not configured there should be no problems. The PSM or Flare drives should not be moved as it will make the machine unusable.

    configure a Clariion DAE

What you have is an expansion rack for a Clariion System. If you supply the part number printed on the top label I could tell you more. The amber lights on the LCC cards are on because the interfaces are not connected to a SP.

You have several options when doing a SCSI code upgrade: 1. Upgrade by director. (single director upgrade) 2. Upgrade a single disk. 3. Upgrade by drive type. (all drives of the same type) 4. Upgrade all drives. (all drives in a mixed drive configuration) This can be done online or offline...

Are EMC Clariion and Dell PowerVault products compatible

I have 2 EMC FC4700's and acquired some Dell Power Vault 630F DAE's and DPE's and several 73g drives. I tried to expand my FC4700 by adding a Dell DAE and the drives came up as unsupported. I then tried to put some EMC drives into the Dell DAE, but they would not physically slide into the disk...

Is Dell hardware compatible with EMC FC4700

Any one else have input on this? The Flare version does not explain why the drive would be unsupported. When a bad drive is replaced we don't stock different spares for different flare versions. My conclusion is that there is an incompatibility between the EMC machines and the Dell equipment...

Is Dell hardware compatible with EMC FC4700

I have 2 EMC FC4700's and acquired some Dell Power Vault 630F DAE's and DPE's. I tried to expand my FC4700 by adding a Dell DAE and the drives came up as unsupported. I then tried to put some EMC drives into the Dell DAE, but they would not physically slide into the disk tray. I found a metal...
