'the Gods' refers to a specific set of gods, so the capitalization is proper. 'my Boss' refers to a specific person, so, what's wrong with capitalizing the B?
Intuition in my mind realizes that 'my boss' just -seems- proper, but, the more I think about it, the more I can't shake the feeling...
Is this a special case specific to the word 'god'? Being at work, my mind is correlating this example to the word 'boss'. As I only have one boss, would saying 'I need to get this done for my Boss' be appropriate? It doesn't seem like it would be... which piston is misfiring in my head?
I can empathize with the swearing note; I'm Canadian born and raised, but working at an electronics company, we have quite a few oriental workers here. Many of them opt to go by names more easily pronounced (Example: Rachel instead of Qian), but we have this one man named Fu-Xing. Pronouncing...
I don't, now that you mention it. Though I hope you'd forgive me for overlooking this; the name heavily lends itself to He being a male.
Calling He a she would sound odd, if the name is in fact pronounced like the pronoun.
I wouldn't know, having not met him yet. I'd presume it's like the pronoun. If it -is- 'He-h', then I suppose you're setting up to call him He Li Copter? :)
While creating user accounts this morning, I happened upon a new employee named He Li. I found myself typing the oddest sentence in an E-mail this morning; I thought you people may find it somewhat amusing.
"To avoid this, He’s username will be hli2."
Without proper capitalization, someone...
Update:
The D-Link representative suggested I update my firmware (Why didn't I think of this?). My DI-524 RevC was using version 3.04c. Updating to version 3.20 seemed to fix my problem, I can now connect to Nintendo WFC seemingly without any issues.
I, too, am having issues connecting to Nintendo WiFi through my wireless router.
I had no problems assigning a static IP to my DS's MAC address, and logs confirm that my DS does connect to the router and get the IP I've told the router to assign to it. However, when I test the connection on my...
The only advanced feature on our printer (Xerox Workcenter Pro 55) that could emulate what I'm trying to perform is the ability to 'delay' documents to be printed at a specific time. Not quite the solution I was looking for, but, an option.
I've posted a thread in the general printer...
While waiting for my sister to finish work the other night, I noticed an odd thing in the way this particular store she works at catagorized their departments. One department was "Woman's", another department was "Men's", and a third department was "Kids".
Woman's - Singular possessive
Men's -...
Hi there,
I made a post yesterday in the XP forum, they said I might have more luck here.
thread779-1164732
The general gist of what I'm doing is: I'm printing multiple documents at intermittent time periods, and as a result, when I go to pick them up from the printer (Xerox workcenter pro...
Hi there,
When looking through documents I need to print, I tend to print out each document that I'll need as I see it. The problem with this is, the documents I print are typically all spaced out, sandwiched between other documents other people have printed. Is there a way to set up...
When a coworker of mine attempts to print multiple documents, some of the documents get lost between his computer and our printer. It's seemingly random which ones, and an error message isn't displayed saying the print job couldn't be completed, simply an error log in the System Log. The error...
dcompto,
Thanks for the theory, unfortunately the problem remains.
I went into the presentation giving me issues and looked at the master view. There was no master title to be seen, only a master slide. I tried adding a master slide, and saw that the title text on the newly-created title...
This powerpoint presentation I have is using a master slide as a template for all slides in the presentation. Each slide has a title text box, and a body text box (as per the master slide). Both text boxes have their fonts set to Arial, and their color set to blue (again, inherited from the...
