I did a 'fdisk /mbr' from the win98 DOS prompt, but the cursor just blinks on the next line. It won't even return to a DOS prompt. I didn't hold out much hope for doing the /mbr, since it is my understanding that zero writing the entire drive wipes out the master boot record anyway. Any more...

Rvnguy, actually I have tried it with both NTFS and FAT32. No go either way. I haven't done the 'fdisk /mbr' manually. I'll try that a little later and get back.
