printing to a client from an ASP.NET application on the web server

It does work.... But I have to run the software on the same machine as the printer is located, so I'll have to turn both clients into web servers. Luckily the software is only being used a couple of days and there are only 2 computers that need to run this. Thanks for your input.

printing to a client from an ASP.NET application on the web server

I've written an ASP.NET (VS 2005) application that will print a receipt automatically when a command button is pressed. Here is an excerpt of the code that I am using to do this: Dim printFont As New Font("COURIER NEW", 12) Dim pd As New PrintDocument() AddHandler pd.PrintPage, AddressOf...

Thinking about an MBA but major obstacle in the way

Usually people that come with a question "Should I do this or that" already know what they want to do, they just want some kind of validation of their decision. What do you think yourself you should do, to get it or pass it? Do you want people here to talk you into or out of getting an...

Thinking about an MBA but major obstacle in the way

But don't hinder your growth and don't lose the opportunities you have because of office politics. Try to appear to be somewhere outside the politics." "You are going to let somebody dictate whether you get an advanced degree because of a perceived notion they will make your life difficult?"...

MCDBA 2000 - is it worth it?

And with a product that is dated in months, why even bother with certification. They are just revenue generators for vendors and training companies. Why not spend the money getting a valuable degree? Nobody has ever aked me what my M.S. stands for; however, there are many acronyms...

Thinking about an MBA but major obstacle in the way

Well, it depends on what you expect to get from it. If you study hard, and you have some work experience already, you will have added value to yourself as an employee. Can you utilize it right to make more for your company and get your company to pay you more for that? Or can you find a new job...

MCDBA 2000 - is it worth it?

I posted an MBA thread but another idea I have is to go after the MCDBA because I enjoy working with databases. I have the books and currently have years of experience with SQL Server 2000. Is it worth getting the 2000 certification with the newly revamped system that Microsoft has for SQL 2005?

Thinking about an MBA but major obstacle in the way

I have an employer that would pay for 75% of the degree. However, my boss has a GED and 2 of the 4 senior members of the department have merely a high school education. If I go for the MBA, they may see me as a threat and make my life hell or try to get rid of me....EVEN THOUGH the company...

    Team Player vs. Top Performer

Let's say you're in an IT group of a dozen people. About half the people are at a level above you and half are on a level below you in rank. You are one of the smartest and most productive people in the group. Let's also say that you have some skills that NOBODY else in the group has. Should...

Best degree to pair with IT degree

I have a Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems and work in the field as an "IT generalist". Based on my education and experience, I seem to have hit a glass ceiling in my career. An IT degree doesn't seem to be enough anymore and I'm looking to further my education. I really don't care to...
