Installing XP on laptop with 300GB IDE
I'm trying to install XP Home on my laptop using an IDE Maxtor 300GB. The Phoenix BIOS can see the hdd correctly, but laptop hangs while booting from XP disc. The initial POST is OK then after the CD spins up and starts the installation, I get this screen - 'Setup is inspecting your computer's... -

Hi. I'm trying to install a 300GB hdd into the laptop. The BIOS recognises the hdd correctly. If I try with the Acer Recovery CDs, it shows a Norton Ghost error and won't install.
