Ok guys,
I've reinstalled the Creative Labs driver for my sound card. So far the system is stable, but I'll report back if theres a problem.
Thanks for y'all's help
Tony,
I have an SLI-capable OCZ GameXtream 700watt PSU and IMHO it should be enough to power both video cards, which are only powered by the PCI-e bus.
I do not have a Soundblaster X-fi card, but I do have a Soundblaster Audigy SE which I have never had problems before.
Again everything runs...
Hey guys,
I just upgraded my system recently to the following specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
2GB DDR2-800 RAM
2x Geforce 7600GT in SLI
Now, I've only noticed this after installing the second video card, but sometimes, when I'm gaming or watching movies, the whole system freezes and I hear this...
Hello everyone.
My desktop has three hard drives. One uses NTFS and has Windows XP. One is also NTFS and is used for my data files. My third is an ext3 that has Ubuntu linux on it.
The problem is this: Whenever I reformat my first hard drive and reinstall windows, GRUB stops working (I can...
1) The CPU Fan's configuration was the same when I started building a week back. I changed nothing as far as I know, and it keeps sounding like its hitting something, making a weird rattling noise.
2)I have the 4-pin plug installed.
3)I don't THINK I had any issues installing the CPU. The pins...
Hey Guys.
I'm new to building computers and I just "finished" my first build. Well, I turned on the computer, and it won't even go through POST. Nothing even shows up on the screen. I'm pretty sure that I connected all the cables correctly (well, maybe or maybe not), and the motherboard I got...
I really don't think its a virus or worm or Trojan.
I setup a private network and everything works fine. I ran FreshDiagnose (which is like Device Manager) and it seems to be fine.
I'll try what you guys suggested above with the trial version of the tester, but I have been unable to recreate...
Hey guys,
One of my computers is really acting up. Whenever I boot it up with the CAT5 cable in it, it freezes during the boot phase, but when I boot my computer without it, it runs fine.
In the past, I occasionally get BSOD errors too while I'm surfing the internet, but I don't know if its...
Ok. The CMOS configutation problem occurs even though I completely shut down and restart.
So I'm still thinking that this is a hardware problem, not a software problem.
The thing is, I don't know what part of my hardware is damaged. Hm....CMOS config error AND comp crash after...
Oops I didn't see if the problem persists if I press F2 when doing a regular shutdown yet.
more to come when I do...
Funny thing. I ran Spybot, MS Anti-spyware, Counterspy, and Hijackthis. I have Spywareblaster enabled too.
No I did not disable Restore Points. How would that affect this?
Hmm...something tells me this may be more a hardware problem than a software problem.
It turns out that when I boot my computer after I put it on standby or hibernate (Windows XP), the problem occurs, but if I do a complete shutdown and restart it, the problem doesn't occur. Weird.
I use...
Hmm well I ran Counterspy and it removed a few cookies, and ran Spybot and it got rid of Backweb lite. I'll see if this works tomorrow.
But I doubt spyware is what is causing the fact that whenever I press F2 to go to the CMOS configuration after the POST, it restarts instead of going to the...
Yeah. I uninstalled Style XP and it didn't work.
Is there an un-corrupted version of uhtheme.dll or whatever its called that I can download?
But that shouldn't cause the CMOS screw-up, should it????
