Also along the Device Manager line of thought........... While you may have the software check to make sure all the drivers are installed correctly (or at all). You may also want to check Hidden Devices: start > control panel > system > hardware > device manager > view > show hidden devices...- Zoophyte

"winsrv was not found" error following attempted SP2 install
OK. I’ve read all the posts regarding this already and I apologise for thrashing a dead dog but I would really like to get this machine going again, but I have some problems. The Situation: Large Law Firm and this is a partners high end IBM computer. Out of well over 1200 XP SP2 installs this...- Zoophyte
