Thanks for the reply. The thing is, Outlook seems to be doing the "right" thing. That is email from Outlook does not contain the extra imagess (at least that is what the customer is saying). Maybe it is because Outlook is not set to "send proper Internet mail" that they appear differently???
We have a trouble ticket system that sends email when certain events occur (e.g. ticket is updated or closed). Sometimes we also include images, such as screen shots. One of our customers is using Lotus Notes and is complaining that they always receive an extra file numbered starting from 0...
I need to write a high-level monitoring concept and I was hoping that I would not have to re-discover electricity by writing it all from scratch. Therefore, I was hoping there might be something already online. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything.
By "high-level" I mean things like...
I need a shove in the right direction. What does one need to do in order to make data available from an application via SNMP? Either the app writes the data somewhere on the system that snmpd knows about, or snmpd knows how to query the app to get the data it needs. Somewhere you tell snmpd how...
Hi All!
I have a list of string which I want to check to see if a specific value is present. Currently, I have a list of ORs are part of an if-then statement, for example:
if part_name ="ABC" | part_name ="XYZ" | part_name="123" then
Currently there are about 20 values that I need to check...
Is there some way to elevate priviledges within a script? (batch, powershell, perl doesn't matter)
Our goal is to allow users to start and stop services. We would like to be able to run a script using type of remote job execution. We downloaded the subinacl.exe and can start it remotely with...
I am trying to find a way to allow a specific user to stop and start services. I have looked all through the local security policy, but found nothing that would allow me to do that. I googled and found a few things indicating I can do this from the command-line using something in the resource...
Thanks for the reply. I set the Apache LogLevel to debug, but I did not see anything that to indicate where the problem was. It looked like the connection was being made to the server, although the server was saying the user did not exist.
Snoop is a good idea, for the next time. I don't need...
We have Apache/2.2.21 running on Solaris 10 (Intel) and are authenticating users against a Windows active directory. We have allowed access for several groups (ldap-group) and individual users (ldap-user) and in most cases it works. However, it one paricular case when we try to access the web...
Thanks for the reply.
My son is in band and I registered the band's name and set up the domain on a server I have. Someone else is creating the site and uses FrontPage. I've suggested any number of other tools, but the person doing the site uses FrontPage. I was doing this as a favor to my son...
I have Apache/2.2.10 on openSUSE 11.1, and I am trying to install the FrontPage extensions. I found a copy of the FP Extension 5.0 but during the installation (running fp_install.sh) it says it is going to replace the running Apache with version 1.3.19. Not want I want.
I have google for a long...
>> I would argue against lookups!
Then I do not see a way to compare the list of what should run to the list of what actually did run, except continue to do it be hand.

I know of the...
As far as I see it is not simple. There is no 1:1 relationship between the expected start time and the actual start_run time. As I said there can be a variance when the job starts. For example, the 12:00 run could start at 11:57:13 or 12:04:37.
I could concatenate the three variables in the...
>> But you have not defined the logic for determining WHICH START TIME to use in a lookup.
EXACTLY that's the problem. In my original post I said "We need a way to pick out the entry for a specific time." The rest is peanuts.
A counter might work. However, if we ever change the frequency...
The "logical" differentiation is that the combination NAME, QUEUENAME and RUN_START are unique. I can easily combine NAME and QUEUENAME to create a single value to make the lookups easier, but I still don't know how to integrate the RUN_START time in the lookup.
The reason I am doing the...
I've upload a sample file. The DATA sheet is loaded from a Oracle database. The LOG sheet is what needs to record the start and end times of the various automations. The orginal file comes from a German version of Excel, so there are no formulas. Just the values. (sorry about that)
Looking at...
Thanks. I appreaciate all the help. In retrospect it does seem a little confusing.
I've gotten to the point where I can use CF to change the color of the cell. This is independent of the actual formual to get the starttime. The cell background is red if it is empty (i.e,job did not run) or...
