Hi, I have a network with 1 W2003 Standard server set up as gateway. Right now we are using ISA2004 as FW/NAT solution, no proxy or firewall client. Internet connection is working fine through the NAT (as SecureNAT per ISA terms). But what I need to do is to give one of our internal PCs public...
Thx for your answers. I had set it up so, that our workstations have as primary DNS our xDSL router which can relay DNS (act as DNS Proxy) to our ISP and it works OK. The only thing I wanted was to make it easier for users - to only have 1 IP address for both Gateway/DNS, but as I see, PIX cant...
I dont know if the question is correctly asked... The one thing I need to know how to set our PIX501 to permit DNS responses to resolve correctly through this PIX Firewall, because we have no local DNS server (only our ISP at outside interface does). I read something about aliases but I dont...
Hello to all,
topic says it all. Is PIX501 able to relay DNS queries from inside interface to outside (xDSL router) and back? I am trying to have PIX501 ip address entered as my gateway and also as my one and only DNS entry on our workstations. But after trying to query something through DNS...
Hi to all,
I am trying to configure our PIX501 to allow us to use Cisco VPN Client software to connect to other PIX501 through local 501 and internet. I am doing something wrong because I can connect to the remote PIX501 but cannot see anything on the remote network (connecting to the remote LAN...
I have this setup:
ISP->our XDSL modem->switch->our LAN
Now we want to use Cisco PIX to remotely connect to our LAN with VPN Client. My question is - where to connect the Cisco PIX? I have 2 ideas:
1) ISP->PIX->XDSL modem.....
or
2) ISP->XDSL modem->PIX->.....
Which is the better/optimal one...
So if anyone is interested I solved the issue with ServeRAID Manager not executing itself (without any error). I figured out, that if its java applications its possible that the problem lies within somewhere within Java. The standard installation of ServeRAID Manager comes with unspecified JRE...
Thx for answer, I thought so, but hoped for other type of answer ;-)
I have other problem now, we used older version of ServeRAID Manager on W2K Server (ver. 5.1.something) but we had to upgrade all BIOS/FWs on our server due to the new 140GB HDD we added lately and as I read in readmes we also...
So I found out, that its impossible to convert RAID0 with 1 HDD (so its nothing close to raid :-) with only 1 HDD) to RAID1 on 2 HDDs without data loss. I will try to create RAID1 array on the 2 other empty HDDs and copy the OS&data from the first HDD to this Array. Which tool should I use to...
I have here IBM X235 with 3x36GB HDDs connected to ServeRAID5i controller. My coleague made a mistake in configuration and created 3 arrays (1 for each HDD) with mode RAID0 for each (that was monts ago). But the configuration should have been - 2 HDD in 1 Array (RAID1 mode - mirroring) and the...
