    byte to char conversion

    I've written into a random access file using read(buffer) and I'm reading it using read(buffer), where buffer is a byte array. When I tried to convert the read bytes into characters, I'm unable to do the conversion. The system is again showing me bytes. Can anybody suggest me the best way to...
