Sbj: mysqld will not stay running more than fraction of minute I removed all of mysql for a fresh beginning. I reinstalled from Suse Linux 8.0 distribution cdroms the packages mysql (which has the server parts) and mysql-client (the clients parts). At that point ps -A did not show mysqld...- shoe9plant
