Wow, Access Logix doubles the price of the FC-4700!! My EMC supplier recommends Access Logix tier 5, which is 11000USD, can you explain the tier levels? Are there other tiers that reduce the price? I actually have some LP 8000's, but I am unsure if the card is supported with Sun's multipathing...
Current target system is the FC-4700-1 or FC-4700-2 ( possible earlier systems too eg. FC-5300, depends on the budget ). I plan to run two Sun servers clustered. SAN will be based on 2 SW2800 and each server with 2 QLA2300 each. Is it enough to do LUN masking and Zoning with Switch and HBA?
What I really want to know is; what is the minimum software install for the Clariion DPE for it manage the disks. I am not daunted by using the cli, all of the enviroment that I deal with is UNIX and Cisco IOS. I don't plan to implement powerpath as I will me using Sun Storedge Trafic manager.
I sent a mail to you. WRT access logic, I am only aware of the software license information about using that number of systems. Respond to my email if you want.
When you say cheap, how much do you mean? I have been using DAE's that I have sourced in the USA, I could get a FC 4700 DPE for 5000Euro ( not cheap ), and to configure that with 4TB it would cost well over 10000Euro.
Can anyone describe the FALRE OE to me? I am currently running 10 slot DAE as JBOD, but I am planning to implement a DPE at the end of the summer. Can anyone provide me with a good source of documentation on FLARE and EMC software and the DPE hardware.

I have swapped out the fan pack on the rear, for the few seconds that the pack was off, two amber led lit up on the power supplies, but when I reinserted the new fan module the leds went out. The planned configuration for these arrays is HA cluster. Two arrays, data and mirror, two switches and...
I have two Clariion DAE for JBOD use, one of the systems is showing amber "system check" led. It appears to be working I have it directly attached to a Solaris host using two HBAs and two LCC using SC to DB9 MIA. Disks are showing up on only one controller, I swapped the LCC and cables, but the...
