I/O error problem running Foxpro 2.6a in newer OS:
I migrated OS from Windows XP Pro 2 to both Windows XP 3 and Windows 7 32 bit (could not solve problem on Windows 7 64 bit). Ran into the I/O error that is often reported. This issue is resolved by looking at the code generated by the screen...
I am a psychotherapist, who learned Foxpro 2.6 in order to
develop a patient, managed health care/insurance tracking and billing program for 8+ therapist on our staff. The Private Practice program runs on a Windows peer-to-peer network. All of our billing is done with paper bills/forms. We...
I want to age an account...i.e. find the number of days
that has elapsed between a job being done (a date fields....chart.completed) and today's date (date()).
If I could write it to a variable (e.g. m.aged) I could
then use it in a report. Any ideas.
I tried what David Toranzo suggested, since I need to
use macro substitution (needed dynamic quality). It
worked! Thanks so much for your thought and time. In
fact, all those who responded, I truly appreciate it.

Can FPW2.6 open a modem; dial a connection; and then
transmit a txt file created with the Report Writer?
If it can do this, will it make a difference if the
modem is a standard one or DSL?

After creating the text file using the report writer,
I "append memo notes from". After each text file
is created, the memo field can then be appended.
At the point the user is finished adding text files...
I am using the Report module to print to a file
REPORT FORMAT PK1500.FRX .... to file Output.
The report writer calls a Generic text only
printer.
I would like to be able to add further text
information to the file. Any thoughts or assistance
would be helpful.

The combo worked.
I created a printer file Generic/Text only
then
Report Form to file Aoutput.txt
Result: I created a text file that kept most of the
formating created by the Foxpro 2.6 report writer.
Thanks for your expertise and time.

Using FPW 2.6. Want to print a report to a text file.
At the end of the Report Form line I added PROMPT. This
brings up the windows printer dialogue setup. I checked
"print to file". It creates the file I named. However,
when I go to edit the file, it it empty.
Why?
