Hi clever people!
I have a requirement to use SRR on some 3560s. (it sure is more complicated than doing QoS on a router :)
I'm trying to get my head round how it all fits together and I have a query.
I have a number of access ports in a particular VLAN and traffic coming from that VLAN will...
Thanks Vince. I totally take you point about the ports, it's pretty dumbass and yes you are correct in saying it was management decision! :)
That was kinda the jist of my original question though. As the ports are dedicated, I figure I could just trust dscp on the those ports and only use...
I appreciate your input, but I beg to differ, quite strongly. The design is perfectly valid and up-to-date. (ever read Cisco's Smart Business Architecture, Bordeless Networks for Midsize organisations, 2010?)
The links that make up the LAGs are spread across different line cards on the 6500...
Hi,
We have a 6509 at our core/distrubution and stacks of 3750s at the access. We are using port-chanels for the uplinks configured as trunks. All layer 3 information is on the 6509.
We are looking to deploy Alcatel IP phones which will be marking audio and signalling as ef and af31...
Hello,
We are using MLPPP to bond 3 ADSL connections on a Cisco 2911 as CPE. Our LNS is a Cisco 7301 with the relavant config.
This all seems to work and the links come as a bundle etc so it would appear we have the config correct. However, everytime one particular ADSL resyncs, all layer3...
Hi,
Quick question about rate-limiting. If I rate limit on a physical interface, eg S0/0, will that limit also apply to any subinterfaces, eg S0/0.1 (I'll be using a policy map to apply the rate-limit to s0/0)
I think the answer is be yes, but just wanted to check!
Many Thanks
Guys,
I've inherited a domain in mixed Windows 2000 mode with 3 NT4 DCs and 4 Windows 2000 DCs. The thing is, none of the NT4 boxes actually exist anymore! I've never dealt with NT4 in any way so my question is, can I safely just delete these computer accounts or is the process more involved...
Hi,
Does anyone know of a script that can perform a similar function to Zenworks DLU feature? ie When a user logs into Novell, a windows account of the same name is created on the workstation and added to specified windows groups...
Thanks in Advance.
Well Linux OES is strictly just SLES9 with Novell tools\packages such as iManager, iFolder etc on top. OES gives you the choice of that, or a Netware 6.5 kernel with the same stuff.
So basically what I'm asking about is SLES9 as I'm a Linux newbie. I'll check the links though, cheers!!

Hi,
I'm interested to see which Anti-Virus products people use on OES Linux and any feedback you may have on these.
I ask as we are about start Migrating our Netware file servers to OES Linux and we use Netshield on the current ones so LinuxShield seemed like the obvious choice fro them once...
Guys,
We've recently implemented a 4 site and 4 domain controller(one per site) AD infrastructure. Replication is working fine but as the question suggests, I would just like to ask a 'best practice' question to ensure the most efficient replication.
Sites A,B,C and D all have any-any...
Guys,
I've just added a second DC tht is running DNS. All zones are AD integrated and the replication of all of these zones is working fine in both directions.
EXCEPT - on DC1, I created a subdomain of the root domain, called say, subdomain.company.com
For some reason, this does not replicate...
I have just added a second domain controller, DC2 on a new site(site2) in the domain company.com. All appeared to have worked ok, the DC put itself into the correct site and all AD objects are viewable from it etc.
I have set up an IP link and added both site1 and site2 to it and scheduled the...
Thanks alot, just gotta say this Forum is a god send. I've learnt plenty just by flicking through it, as well as my posts.
As regards VNC, it was implemented before I joined as an interim measure I think and we're still using it. I'll make some suggestions to the 'cheese' about the way the...
Cool, thanks for that. However, we have some in house developed software that runs from the script and displays the IP address on the desktop and then we use VNC to connect to them. Also, we have over 4000 workstations nationwide so remembering the names of afew would not be of that much help...
Right, I may get shot down with this one an told to go and read stuff but here goes anyway....I understand how Dynamic DNS updates work and I know exactly how to configure them. I see the benefits of of using it to in environments where new servers are being added/removed/changed on a regular...
As I thought it might be, the answer was staring me in face all along! Basically we have a Squid proxy(all PCs are set to go through this for Web/Intranet access) with DNS running and it holds secondary copies of all our internal zones. I simply put the record in squids hosts file. Simple eh...
Cheers, does anyone know of any work around for this? It makes sense that it won't work the way I'm trying but I didn't think ours was a particularly unique dns setup and so have other people ran in to the same problem? It doesn't work with an alias either..
Many Thanks
Guys,
Our website is say, company.org.uk and it can be resolved with or without the www externally(via our isp) and I understand how this is done.
We would like it work the same internally also. We have our DCs in the internal company.org.uk zone and have eg (same as parent folder) Host...
Cheers, they don't move around alot so will probably up the lease time a little. Our scopes go from x.x.x.1 - x.x.x.150 so with only 100 max devices on each floor we should hopefully be ok. When we started migrating the floors and configuring the Nortel switches to use the MS DHCP server, alot...
