the reboot has me stuck at 0518
IBM:
518 Remote mount of the root (/) and /usr file systems failed during network boot.
Well, its not a network boot... wtf?!
It saw my kernel and loaded it aok...
any Ideaz?
If your plan was one set of mksysb cdroms for modern power5 boxes, I'd say no problem, go for it.
But with older machines, with different cpu's and hba, etc, I wouldn't recommend the approach.
A golden rule of thumb when cloning using mksysb/mkcd is to always boot off of the AIX Install CDROM...
Just a tip on editting inittab; I believe you must use ': ' (colon space) to comment out a line in inittab on aix... just a :blah:blah gets interpreted as a regular line with null first field.

It depends on the config and version of ssh you installed, but the latest openssh packages direct from IBM, dont have the prng dependancy. Get it from here:
