I finally managed to get the downloading bytes count from a FLVPlayback component, but eventhough it seems to work well on my fast cable connection, I cannot get it to work on my old 56k dialup.
It starts off fine, but as soon as it hits the count of 497,617 bytes (on +/- 2MBs files), the player...

Anybody ever noticed (on IE specificly at least...), that a getURL call to a js function, within the html in which the movie is embedded, will freeze all animated .gifs on that html?
I've found (with help on the javascript forum) a workaround to re-start them up within the called function, but...
Would anyone know the reasons for this and a workaround other than refreshing the html within the called js function?
Thanks for ideas!

I'm on ME (Yeah I know! Don't rub it in!), and I can run a Flash .exe and open some other application through a batch file and with the shortcut the DOS window runs minimized, and is not seen, before the other .exe opens. That all works fine for me... But a lot of Flash users are asking how to...
Hi all!
Is it possible to track the mouse position over an html, and call an alert if the mouse is in fact over (or not!) an embedded object as a Flash movie?
Any thoughts and/or possible scripts?
Thanks!
Solved my curiously "now and then appearing" problem with desktop program icons when ever they decided to show up, by following the advice here, to delete the "shelliconcache" or whatever it was called, but since then (maybe this isn't related) I have had to repeatedly...

Now the bold tags are the problem.
The bold outlines of the font are not embedded.
Add an other empty textfield off-stage, using the same font (embedding set!) but with the Bold tab selected.
It will then work in your on-stage textfield.
You'd have to do the same thing if you wanted to use...
Hi all,
Any way of automatically trapping a mouse cursor change?
The function would have to be constantly checking without using onmouseover & al stuff on specific objects, pictures, forms or links in scrolling textfields.
If that function existed, would it also trap cursor changes in an...
You could set a variable in your html's object and embed tags with this:

Then simply set your dynamic text (my_text.text = variable) with that variable.
Or...

Hi all,
When running a dos batch file from Flash with Windows ME, I can run the dos window minimized by setting it under the program tab of the batch file's properties.
How can the same thing be done with Windows 2000?
I'm told that there is no Program tab when looking at the batch file's...
