How do you make use of the H.323 feature of an old Avaya IP Office to setup a voip trunk connection?
Are there suppliers of H.323 in the UK?
What are the bandwidth requiremnts?
Hi
Is there a difference in Q.931 versions. Weve been told that a site has Q.931 V0.8 or (some version number similar), was installed 7 years ago or so. Is there a Q.931 V1, is There any difference?
PS Its on an Avaya system, hence the post to this forum

Im working at a system with an Avaya IP Office 403 switch with 2 PRI cards connected to our telecoms 2 ISDN30 lines. Each cable has a tap, and the 2 cables from the tap go into a PC used for call recording (from Mercom).
We are thinking of placing an ISDN dial thru GSM gateway device on one of...
Can someone confirm that you can route all mobile calls (which in the UK begin with a set number of digits) down 1 of the 2 PRI cards on an old Avaya IP Office 403?
I am looking at a problem which would involve users uploading lists of records with various field structures into an application. The 2nd part of this would be to also allow the users to specify fields to capture information.
This is a step beyond anything ive done up to this point where i...
Hi, hope you can help
Im hoping to connect an avaya system to my asterisk box. What i am looking for is to allow the avaya users to dial an outbound pstn number as usual,
a) the call to be routed to asterisk via H323(ill research how to do this from avaya sources),
b) for asterisk to route...
Hi
I noticed previously that i cant access the IPCOP inbuilt web admin interface from a pc that is not setup with IPCOP as its default gateway, which i presume is by design. But what about if i activate the squid proxy, will i be able to point PCs webbrowser to IPCOP and get web access through...
Hello
I would like to use an asterisk server on our LAN as an extra outbound line for the IP 403 to use. Ive read about the 323 addon for asterisk, will i need a voip license for the avaya 403? Has anyone done this here, how did you find it?

We have a small office using ISA Server 2000, previously this was connected to the internet through another firewall provided by the business park we are at, but soon will be connected directly to the internet. Is this a high security risk given its age, with all patches installed, will it still...
Hello
Im looking at options to instal a trixbox opensource ippbx. Im thinking of having 2 network cards in it, one that connected to the internal network, one that connects onto a firewall/to the internet. Will having 2 network cards require extra setup or should trixbox (asterisk + centOS)...
Hi
We are getting a new internet connection installed and will need to unplug the old one and connect this to our ISA Server 2000.
Will this be a simple swap out job? We will be given a new ip, which i know i will have to enter into the external network card TCP/IP page. I will also be given...
Hi
Does anyone know of a sip softphone that can be controller by an API. Xlite can launch a call through command line interface, but thats pretty much it, preferably looking for something cheap, the voip SDKs iv seen are pretty expensive and i wouldn't have any knowledge of sip protocol or...
Hi
I work in a 40 seat call centre, ive implemented a few remote workers with a voip setup using a hosted ip-pbx (independant from our inhouse system which is quite dated).
As were in the UK the call centre uses NTL ISDN lines which is quite expensive. Ive found a sip provider giving us much...
Hi
I cant seem to disable "listen into" on phones in an Avaya IP Office 3.01 system. Everyone can listen into everyone else. Both listen into and the can be listened into seem to have no effect.
Hope you can help

Hello
We have an Avaya IP Office 3.01 system (on NTL ISDN lines in the UK). Employees used to transfer calls by putting the 1st party on hold at the phone, manually dialling the 2nd number and when ready using the hang up button to complete it.
They do a lot of transfers each day, and always...

I would like to hear from people prepared to discuss a new open source software project - CRM CTI system for use in high volume outbound call centres (in the vein of providing some of the facilities Noble Amcat does). I work in a call centre and have developed my own software system for...

Hi
During an attended transfer its often important to switch back to party A before completing the transfer to party B (to check they're still there / customer services reasons and in tapi this would use the swap hold method).
I know that this is possible on softphones that handle transfers at...
