I would like to know if there is a way to stay connected to the internet via wifi (dhcp) while connecting a disconnecting my wired ethernet connection (also usually dhcp).
When I use the wifi internet connection for say sharing the screen or using a chat feature while working on a network device...
What is a good device to use for testing house pairs to extend T1 or DSL? I've been working at malls with old long sometimes spliced, bridged cat3 cabling with soldered posts, and the signal craps out by the time it reaches the destination. Something like the LEC uses to test the DSL signal...
Has anyone used these AFL Fast fiber connectors? They supposedly just have a plastic key that you squeeze and remove after you insert the cleaved fiber. No tool needed.

When trying to i.d. the phone number on a line that had DSL installed on it, the line starts ringing when going off hook. No dial tone. Does this mean it is used for only DSL? Would that be considered a dedicated ADSL (DADSL) line?
I'm using NRU 11 workbooks and when I configure the system size to 12 port, the configure hardware only shows up to module 8, which is only 6 ports. Anyone know how to configure these things or why that happens?
Anyone ever heard of 7316e's coming off hook via speaker and dialing numbers. Customer swears he witnessed this and people are telling him they are getting calls from his place at all hours. I had to replace a 0x16 not too long ago because phones on it were losing power. He claims the same...
Customer asking a lot here. Wants record calls and call ID info for records along with screen pops for 30+ users. Also wants to add info to screen pop like customer specific questions.
When I populated an OLP spreadsheet through Norstar Remote Utilities, the Maintenance area doesn't become populated. I did a full acquisition for a MICS 7.0. The partial acquisition doesn't offer Maintenance as an option. What I was hoping to accomplish was get as list of Port/DN status, to see...
I ran into this same issue from thread1361-1264170. Any luck with that?

"We are using a BCM200 with 3.7
We have mostly T16e's, but some i2004 phones.
Occasionally on the i2004 the intercom key goes off hook and stays that way when another phone on the system takes a...
When dialing over a VOIP line from one BCM50 to another, and then out of a copper line, I have to dial really slow for it to work. If I dial normally it doesn't seem to register. I'm setting this up at the shop, but I doubt if I would be able to convince 300 people at the site to dial like that.
How many PRI's can a BCM 450 hold? We needed 3 each at two sites, and our distributor said we needed a 450 versus a 400 because the 400 could only hold 2.
We have unified (desktop) messaging installed on 1 PC with outlook express, and connected to a call pilot 100 on a small network with no servers. The messages come in the inbox, but when opened says "message no longer on server". This just started happening and was working fine before. The...

I left an earlier on the old timers I work with using WD-40 for pulling lubricant, but I didn't want to lump the bad cabling practices in one thread ( I'm sure it's a long list). They seem to believe that Scotch locks are fine to extend a twisted pair data cable. A wire map will show it's o.k...
The old timers I work with like to use WD-40 as a pulling lubricant for cable (twisted pair, fiber). I always get the " we've been doing it this way for years ". Can there be any problems that would arise from this?
