Is it doable, or are there security flaws in the design? It's something I drew up really quick in class.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Server Spec's - 8 Core / 16 Gig's / Raid 1 hardware controlled configuration
Main OS - Citrix (Debian)
VM1 (2 CPU cores / 4 Gigs) - Debian

I'm changing from using Debian as a firewall (can only block ports for IP's, nothing more), an I'm making everything KISS. So I'm switching the firewalls to Server 2008 with Forefront.
Internal IP Addressing - works great! Everything is fine.
External IP Addressing - issues;
I set the IP...
Server 2008 can not remove "Log Off" from Windows 7.
GPO > User Config > Policies > Administrative Template > Start Menu and Taskbar
Remove and prevent access to the Shut Down, Restart, Sleep, and Hibernate commands "Enabled"
Remove Log Off from the start menu "Enabled"
I need to make "Log...
This is probably an easy fix, but I'm pounding my head over it.
DC's on Server 08
PC's on Win 7
I have for a specific user "Command Prompt" is disabled.
I too have "Log off" removed through AD.
For some reason, even w/ the DNS's set properly, the "Log off" is NOT removed from the startup...
Domain Controllers are Server 08
Local machine my fellow employee is using is Windows 7 x64
My Boss put another PC on the domain, and just gave it a name, but not the name I told him. So there was a name conflict and consequently caused a disconnect in the kerberos handshake. I fixed the name...
Almost exactly like the title says.
On my AD Server, I made a folder, shared it. Went to a local computer, deleted the user profile, logged in to create a fresh new one. Copied the user profile to a thumb drive, transported it to the Server. Changed "NTuser.DAT" to "NTuser.MAN" and changed...
Okay, so I've only fought with this for roughly two days now.
I just did a bunch of updates, and set all the local computer profiles from ".DAT" to ".MAN"
For some reason, some of these, some how changed back to ".DAT"
Also, I changed permissions to the Desktop so that users CAN NOT...
Okay, I've been though Linux in college, had to use VI then, and I hated it with a passion! Even after I learned how to use it.
Forward to present day, I'm at work, there's a Linux machine hosting as our Firewall, I have to change one, ONE F*CKING IP! From .75 to .18. An I can't for the LIFE OF...
Site 1
10.10.10.X > everythings fine
10.10.10.X > backup server for site one, everythings fine
Site 2
10.20.20.X > no DC on location yet
Site 3
10.30.30.X > currently at location with DC setup
I get an error when trying to run nslookup and this is what I get;
can't find server name for...
Okay, I'm pretty green, let's just start off with that!
I'm still in college, almost done with my AS. I haven't even had the proper experience to be doing what I'm doing.
Three Subnets
10.10.10.X
10.20.20.X
10.30.30.X
But to separate Public IP's from Employee IP's they (last guys) also added...
Kind of what the Subject says.
I work for a Library. I have ALMOST everything locked down and set! IE cannot be changed, and the homepage is the Library website. By request we are going to use FireFox and Chrome on all the computers as well. So this is the issue.
I need help making a...
jdeane posted on 27 July 2011 a similar question; however, his/hers was more on the IE side of things. I've got IE locked down like a chastity belt!
I work for a Library, and am still in school. I'm a bit ahead of my class in that I'm in "Server 2003" at school, and two weeks before that course...
Pretty much what the Title States!
The Machine is a Citrix based XenServer ver 5.6 with 3 VM's running.
One VM is Windows Server 2003, it's just a Member Server not a Domain Controller. But there is a program on it, that about 70 computers REQUIRE access to in order to function!
The last two...
Hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable could shed some light on this issue for me!
I'm ditching 3 old DC's running Server 2003 that were setup in 2005.
I'm currently setting up 4 new (1 main, and 1 backup per location) DC's running Server 2008 (yes, 2012 is on the market, but I work for a...
Where I work we have CCM/Unity Vr. 4.X. We've also got three active sites that are Managed by CISCO's phone system setup. Our location is the Corporate and the phone's are on from the time someone arrives till close, as for our other two locations the phones only need be turned on at 9 a.m. and...
Within the past week we've had a few problems with our Unity and Call Manager Servers. On the Call Manager side we're not having any problems, but in the Event Log we're getting "Device Unregistered" and all the devices are becoming unregistered. Than on the Unity side there's an event saying...
Not sure exactly how to word this but I need to set one specific phone number for one of our branches so that Employee's only can call in (one line out of four) and keep the rest of the numbers on the assigned call schedule (no calls before 9 a.m. and none after close). This way if someone is...
If I just add music from our, the library where I work, CD's we own to the Call Manager server would I be violating any kind of copyright infringements? If so please do let me know before I do so! I'm only 22 y.o. and I have been trying to get this Unity/Call Manager stuff down to a T and almost...
I have one phone that's just being outright stubborn. I've checked all the settings on it, and it absolutely will not allow callers to go to the voice mail! It's a 7940, I've checked all the settings on both Unity and Call Manager. All the settings are correct for that particular user. He has...
