I have 4 clients using these VIOs.
To test my VIOs and disk, I shutdown, vios1 and everything was still online. I guess thats good.
However, on a client, when I do "lsvg -l rootvg", I get some LVs that are stale, and some that are synced.

As many of you know, the US Energy department changed the DST (Daylight saving time) rules to conserve energy. Major UNIX vendors: IBM, SUN, HPUX, Redhat, etc.. have created a DST patch.
My question is, how are you testing this patch before the day? Is there a way to simulate this DST?
TIA

I have several processes that just refuse to be killed.
I did a kill -9, and the process is still there with the same PID. The parent is PID 1.
Any better way?
How can I find out, when the process started? ps -ef just gives me '2006', no exact date.
TIA
I know there is a work around for AIX 4.x regarding the DST, I want to be 100% certain I set my TZ variable correct. I am in EST timezone, so I would use:
TZ=EST5EDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0
Using: http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/support/unixservers/news/2006/10/DSTupdate.html
TIA
