Dear friends, it is with mixed emotions that I must report that this saga has come to an end. We were bought out by a competing firm and alas, they laid most of us off, including the kb pounder and myself. So my auditory torture has come to an end, but so has my paycheck. Good luck, good health...
What started the whole stupid mess?
I think it was "Mission Statement". I first heard that gem in the early 90s. Gave me the first intimations of the avalanche to come.
Other candidates:
"Paradigm Shift"
"Win-Win
Optics". You can't just say "what does it look like" any more. The correct pm way is now "what are the optics of this (insert pm-babble-speakish noun instead of normal object description)".

WHY do they originate?

WHEN and WHY and HOW did it become acceptable to wear beach flops to work?
We don't want to look at your nasty feet or hear you FLIPstickflupping around the office all day.
Buy some SHOES for God's sake.
Update: no change. The high-speed keyboard punisher is still at it. All the letters are completely worn off her keyboard (no lie I've seen it). Still to date no one knows what the content of such a ginormous body of work could possibly be. Estimates vary but most agree it is equal to or greater...
BS Buzzword Bingo.
All started back in the 90s with "Management Consultant" and "Project Manager".
"Data Steward"
"Data Center Infrastructure Ambassador"
"Technology Evangelist"
The Golgafrinchian takeover continues..
(BS Buzzword Bingo)
It all started back in the 90s with "Mission Statement", "Management Consultant", "Project Manager", and people started saying things like "going forward" and "scrum" instead of just talking normally (from now on/people just talking).
Latest BBB titles:

Well I got a temporary reprieve, she worked from home for 4 months. But now she's back, with same pattern as last 25 years: type/pound non-stop crazily at high speed for about half an hour, print, walk to printer, walk back with printout, type crazily another half hour or so, walk to recycle bin...
Hello, it's been a while.
Update:
I am still here sitting next to the crazed keyboard pounder after all these years.
I wear aircraft carrier grade ear protection all day but can still hear it.
I am well past all hope of sanity.
I have done a rough calculation based on an estimated 100 wpm typing...
We want to schedule a report with 2 parameters but at schedule time we would not know what they were. The idea is to have the report contain all data needed for any case, then open it with the parameters and have it return just the data for those without requerying the db. It is a tremendously...
BOE 3.1/4.0
Is there a way to open a scheduled report with a url, say with opendoc? We are using opendoc to run on-demand url reports but need to open a scheduled report similarly without having to login to infoview. Thanks.
We have been using virtual directories that point to IFS folders on our 400 for years on our Win2003/IIS6 machines no problem, but now we are moving to Win2008/IIS7 machines and they no longer work, we can see the files in IIS7 in the virtuals, permissions are the same (full), but we either get...

BIP 4.0 sp2 patch 11
opendocument.jsp url reporting method
We have reports that prompt for parameters with values included.
With sOutputFormat=E or P the parameter page shows but values are empty.
With sOutputFormat=H everything works fine.
This is not a problem with our 3.1 system, only on our...
BIP 4.0 sp2 patch 11 (all latest)
With our 3.1 system we always set the opendoc report to an iframe src to hide the url, but with 4.0 it produces a java null pointer exception, it works if we set the whole page to the url but we can't do this for security reasons, this is a serious problem for...
