    Backup speeds

    Hi, I currently have 2 tape drives directly attached to my backup server by scsi cable. Is it worth changing to fibre connection? Will my backups go seriously quicker or is it restricted by how quickly the drive itself can write to tape? Any experiences of this out there? Thanks.

    Cant see tape drive

    Hello all. I have attached a StorageTek SL500 tape unit to a solaris 10 server(M4000). I've tried the usual "reboot -- -r" and devfsadm etc commands however I still cant see the (LTO3) tape drives from the server. The /dev/rmt directory is empty as well. What do I need to do to see the tape...

    rcp "Killed"

    Has anyone come across this before? I have updated the .rhosts file and all that but when I try to rcp from a solaris 8 box to a solaris 10 box I keep getting the error message "Killed" and nothing else. Advice would be appreciated.

    A5200 photon

    Hi I have just attached an old photon to an E220 running solaris 10. My problem is that I cant see the photon when I do a luxadm probe or any other commands like format. I've tried a reboot -- -r but still cant see the disks. Any advice would be much appreciated.
