With an ASA with the IPS sensor module, is it better just to off load and totally rely on the IPS sensor. Should IP audits still be enabled?
Currently I am running an ASA 5510 - AIP -SSM with IPS, I have noticed that surfing the web seems to be more reponsive when the IP audits are disabled and...
I am trying to use vshadow to snapshot Exchange database volumes on a Lefthand iSCSI SAN. The Lefthand soltions pack and the vss sdk have been applied.
The vss snaphots are made, it looks like Excange agrees but when I go to test the databases, eseutil /mh reports they are in 'dirty shutdown'...
Would anyone be able to send information on a good place to get information on VSS and free space requirements? Does it use the same drive that the data is being VSS? I am trying to make sure that I do not run out of disk space on two volumes that I need to take snapshots on and use a third...
Is there a way to set preferred server configuration without using sites and subnets? I would like to keep 20 domain controllers responding in case of any failures but would like to have file servers and terminal servers preferring to select the one on the same subnet first before going across...
How can send the IPS logs to a syslog server? It seems to be a different system than the logging traps of the ASA, and I am not sure how to monitor the logs on the IPS. I can use the IDM, but this is a manual and time consumer. I would like to set up certain events that would email and alert for...
I thought I would drive this by and see how it looks to you all. It was recommended to us to disable Exchange defragmentation on the databases that are running on a ISCSI SAN. This is keep the changes from growing to fast on the snapshopts.
Is anyone else doing similar? I am scared really in...
How do you all feel about this configuration? I know that it is best to put databases, logs and OS on different drive arrays but is it really the best for the bang of the buck.
How about this, Windows 2003 Server Ent, brand new IBM 3650, 8 GB RAM, dual 2.0 quad cores and 6X300 GB 15K RPM drives...
We run on a WAN where there are multiple domain controllers.
Is there a way to configure an Exchange 2003 server to use a specific domain controller?
It seems to pick DCs in far away places instead of the DC and Gloabl Cat that is on the same LAN.
Thank you.
I have some very large files on the C drive in System Volume Information folder.
I do not have volume shadow copy enabled on the C drive.
Does anyone know what writes to these files? I use BackupExec 10d and LiveState Recovery 3.0. Other than that, it is Exchange and OWA use.
Thanks for the help.
I have noticed very large files in the C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci folder that end in .ci.
How can I safely remove these files? I assume they related to the use of OWA and IIS on an Exchange 2003 server.
Thank you,
Does anyone recommend a monitoring tool for domain controllers? I would like to have daily status in a web interface view of all domain controllers as far as health and replications.
What do I need to enable to have an auto reply to global email addresses from an individual mailbox? I need a server reply, it seems that this stopped working with Exchange 2003.
I do not wish to turn on for everyone just an individual and maybe two more.
Thanks in advance!
Is there away to change the tx/rx bandwidth in the tunnel?
I see that is is set to 8Mps. I have 20Mps Internet connection coming soon. And this does not seem to be the same as the physical interface for bandwidth.
ast tunneling enabled
Tunnel transmit bandwidth 8000 (kbps)
Tunnel receive...
Anyone have any feed back for patching servers and workstations for the Daylight Saving Time for 2007?
I am mostly interested in the Exchange server part. How did it go? Was just install the patches or was there more?
Thanks in advance for sharing!
Any recommendations on an ADSI edit tool that is GUI based? I would like to do actions like export all users out and update their Display Information and then update back in.
Not really making new users but just to edit what we have now.
not that I would not mind learning VB scripting, I just...
Forgive me please if this spelled out more than one time in this forum, but I have a seeming unique to these posts.
I am running Exchange Enterprise 2003 SP1 on Windows 2000 Standard server with SP4. The AD is all Windows 2000 Standard as well. The Exchange server is a member server only.
I...
