We just applied the service pack to bring us up to 6.7.1, but noticed no differences in commerce manager. Can someone with 6.7 open their Partner Manager, Help-About and tell me what version and build they are running?
Mine is Version 7.0 - build 1092.
6.7.1 win2k
Alright, hopefully some one can shed some light on this. In the old production environment, there an "idleBat" setting in the .ini:
IdleBAT=60
SLimBAT=30
;HLimBAT=0
;KeepBAT=0
;MinBAT=0
After IBM support looked at my .ini file, they said that resource management of this type does...
OK, Boca, Janhes and Eyetry have helped me identify why maps get a “source not available” on certain files, however the map actually pulls it.
The classic double trigger issue. An application drops the file, Mercator attempts to pick it up, but the file is not finished. A second map is kicked...
How can I make them get along? :)
We have a system that moves files to a folder. On source event, a generic map calls the batch adapter. The batch file calls gpg.exe which encypts files. Well, this darn gpg.exe either get's stuck in task manager or simply does not process the files and give...
6.7.1 Win2k
Our server is brand new and we just installed 6.7.1 and deployed a few systems. All is well, except in the management console, the archive.mmc map remains open.
Specifcally:
Component - archive
Map - Mercator6.7/mmgr/archive.mmmc
System - Archive
State - Put Adapter
Card - 3...
6.7.1 Win2k
After deploying the service pack, we discovered that the event server settings in the sortX12 map in the MessageManager.msd was different than 6.7.
(MSMNGR-X12-X12Inbound-SortX12.mmc)
Specifically, in 6.7.1, Output Card # 1 is set to:
Target: File
File Path: staging*.tmp

6.7.1
I have 2 generic maps, both have 1 input card and 1 output card.
Map #1 has output 1 = input 1. (Like a validation map)
Map #2 has output 1 = NONE.
These maps are used to simply route data or call a batch scripts in the IFD design. Is there a difference between the two?
Windows 2003 OS, DS TX 8.0.1
On our Intel Windows box, can we use the email adapter without having Outlook installed as part of the OS? What protocols can it use?
Just curious as to how many users have it or at least are playing with it.
From what version did you upgrade to?
How long did it take you?
If you haven't upgraded yet, what are your time estimates?
I'm not too familiar with the behind the scenes aspect of 8.0.1, but I know it has a lot of cabailities i.e multile event servers etc.
What is an ideal set-up for a windows box to best leverage all of DSTX 8.0.1's capabiltites?
Hyper-threaded procs? Windows 2003? etc.?
This happened last week. No FTP maps were able to get or send. We rebooted and bounced the service, several times, but this did nothing.
It is happening now and we are 2000 files behind. Network and firewall folks confirm no activity, however they don't see a problem. Any ideas?
I have a map that unzips files (winzip is called via a batch file/batch output adapter) and places it in a folder.
The second map picks these files up and processes them.
Unfortunately, the second map gets a 'source not available' because the winzip executable does not release the files quick...
6.7 (268) Win2K
If I have a map that, on source event, pulls a files from a LAN folder, would it be faster if the drive were mapped vs a UNC path or does it not matter?
The said map is blob in/blob out.
Also, is it possible to get a "source not available" if the network is busy in this same...
*6.7 Win2K
I use this function on the command line for my input card.
Batch Adapter
-cmd 'E:\EC\Appint\Wells401kGETFile.bat' -POLL 2:30
Basically, the batch file calles a FTP client app. If this app fails, I want this input card to exit gradefully.
However, when the app that the batch file...
Mercator 6.7 - Win2K OS
Our default map directory that contains all the .msl's and .mmc's has a lot of junk in it. Some traces, streammaxmemlimit writes there, temp files get written there etc.
Does Mercator/DataStage's performance get effected when the map directory is very large in a...
