    How do you detatch xref with multiple references?

    I have a problem with detatching an xref in my dwg. I can unload it, but it won't allow me to detatch it? The dwg file is very large due to the xref and is slowing things down considerably! It says "unable to detatch. multiple references detected" What causes this, and how can I resolve it?
