Trying to locate a table of the MS Office-Word cursors

How stupid of me! I am looking for a table of cursors for Office version 2002/XP. I would imagine that they would be pretty much the same for Office 2003.

Trying to locate a table of the MS Office-Word cursors

I am working on a presentation designed to show new users how to get started with Microsoft Word. I would like to demonstrate and document the various cursors (Microsoft calls these "mouse pointers") which appear during the course of using this product. For example, the white arrowheads and...

Is there a table of the different cursors used in Office XP?

Thank you both. linney - What I need are the cursors specific to Office (Word in particular) and not the cursors for Windows. I will give the Office Forum a try. vacunita - unfortunately, the Windows 97 info didn't seem to have a modern analog for Windows XP.

Is there a table of the different cursors used in Office XP?

I am working on a presentation designed to show new users how to get started with Microsoft Word. I would like to make up a table of the various cursors which appear during the course of using this product. For example, the white arrowheads and I-beam cursors in standard text-insertion mode, and...

DVD player display quality problem on XP Pro

I re-installed the software, but that made no difference. Just for grins, I looked in the SETUP portion of the software and unchecked the box that said "Use Hardware Color Acceleration". Now the application works without the distortion that I had originally seen. Thank you for your suggestions.

DVD player display quality problem on XP Pro

I just re-read the previous posts and I see that Nelviticus suggested that I re-install the DVD player software. Since I have not yet done this, it will go on my list of things to try. Thank you.

DVD player display quality problem on XP Pro

Thanks for all of your suggestions. This is actually the third identical Sony drive (CRX320E/10)I have purchased and the others have worked fine installed on XP Pro. I did not have to seek out drivers. In fact trying to find a driver is no easy task, but XP Pro has the built-in driver for this...

DVD player display quality problem on XP Pro

I recently installed a Sony DVD/CD-RW combo drive on a Compaq Deskpro EN. The computer has a PIII/866, maximum RAM (512 MB), a floppy drive, and an internal Iomega ZIP 250 drive. The video card is an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200 AGP, and there is a new 6-port USB 2.0 PCI card. The operating system...

Error message: Windows could not load the installer for Monitor

I had no luck with safe mode or scannow. I ended up re-installing XP, which solved the problem. I am assuming that something was left behind when I disconnected the old monitor and this is what caused the nagging error message. With the fresh install, the new monitor was recognized and there...

Error message: Windows could not load the installer for Monitor

Thanks Linney. I looked in: Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor but there was nothing to be found regarding detection of plug and play monitors. I have done a virus scan and a Spybot spyware scan and the computer comes up clean. I will have a look at some of the other...

Error message: Windows could not load the installer for Monitor

Greetings. My daughter's computer is a Compaq 5330US with a P4, plenty of memory, XP Pro SP2 and all updates installed. Her original Compaq monitor was starting to experience symptoms of old age, so I installed a used Dell M781s monitor. The picture quality is superb. The only problem is an...

PC Power Supply external wiring diagram needed

Thanks Ed. The connector does have 20 pins. Are you saying that I can short one of the seven black wires to the green wire to turn on the supply? Thanks for your quick reply.

    PC Not Recognizing Burner

I have had a similar problem before with Roxio. As it turned out, I was using an older version that I had bought when I was still using Windows 98SE. When I upgraded my OS to WinXP and re-installed Roxio, it did not recognize the burner. I ended up having to install some updates from Roxio in...

PC Power Supply external wiring diagram needed

I have a HIPRO HP-235NLXAK 235-watt power supply that I would like to remove from an older computer and use on my bench. The supply does not have a diagram on the case indicating which motherboard wires attach to the on-off switch. My goal is to unplug it from the motherboard, put a little...

JavaScript - making website compatible with Firefox

Since I was able to get the value returned by Firefox via the JavaScript, I was able to determine which version of the index page worked properly. Fortunately it was the same one that I was using for MSIE, so I have been able to remove the sniffer code (but I am keeping the frames because I need...

JavaScript - making website compatible with Firefox

ChrisHunt - As much as I appreciate your extremely valuable contribution to this thread, none of the previous posts answered my original question: "My question is where can I find out the AppNames for Firefox...". However, I appreciate the contributions of Foamcow and cLFlaVA because they were...

JavaScript - making website compatible with Firefox

There is a reason for that. I downloaded the Firefox browser and ran a little JavaScript on the page: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- function browsername() { var browser = navigator.appName; alert("Browser in use: " + browser); } //--> </SCRIPT> It came back with the string...

JavaScript - making website compatible with Firefox

I have never seen a problem with the stairstepping effect on MSIE. I have three computers here running XP Pro, and a dozen at work running Win2K. They all use MSIE 6. The solution to the shift problem was to make a second version of the logo with a one-pixel shift of the background to...
