I had a similar problem recently. I fixed it by creating an empty database file and doing <File> <Get External Data> <Import>. I skipped what was giving me errors, and I copied the module's text instead of copying the module itself.
You could also try doing <Tools> <Database...
The easiest way would be to do <F>ile, <G>et External Data, <I>mport *OR* <L>ink Tables from the menu as apppropriate, choose the Excel file and answer some questions about the data structure, and you'll end up with the Excel data as a table in your file.
Your main problem, as I see it, is that the customer's CustomerID will change when it moves from one set of tables to the other.
