I have a problem where a backup job will execute and then prematurely abort, only using part of a tape. Yet, since something was written to the tape, then the overwrite protection was reset to another year. (The default term we set for NORMAL backups.)

I did try giving my local ip address a static global ip, then creating a conduit to the ftp server...
I forgot to menion, we tried using the PASV option on the ftp client, and tried many different clients, each experiencing the same error. Thanks for the insight!

I have noticed that when trying to access an ftp site from behind my PIX, I can logon, but as soon as I do a LIST to list the directory, the socket connection is restet. I looked in the log files, and there are no denys, but a teardown with the reason code (TCP Reset-I) It seems like the ftp...
Someone told me that you can merely take the PIX flash and stick it into a PC to create a Pix firewall. Is this true, and does anyone have expereince with this? It would seem that by doing so, one can reduce costs by only paying for the flash and IOS.
I guess this works b/c both the PIX and PCs...
I have 2 internet connections (2 different ISPs), and I have a PIX 520 with 3 NICs.
Our toplogy so far is a dmz on one nic, our private network on another, and the final NIC is connected to our main ISP.
What I'd like to do is hook our secondary ISP to our PIX, thus creating redundant...

Qestion, how is it possible that the Pix has 2 ip addresses on one NIC? With PAT, you have a global ip address, and the outside interface's own ip address. It would seem that either there is some translation from the global to the if ip address, or that the 2 both share the same MAC address...
