Our F50 is a a Control Workstation in an SP environment running 4.3.3, 5.1 and 5.2. You will need to just be careful about individual devices attached to the F50 such as multiport serial adapters etc and check that All DEVICES in your lscfg are supported.

I use X-Thin-Pro and cannot replicate this but CDE running on a graphics console can produce strange effects if you don't have large enough / and /tmp filesystems such as being unable to open multiple windows.
As mentioned above, to successfully perform a recovery onto alternate hardware you will need to ensure that hardware is as close as possible a match to your existing hardware on which the mksysb was cut. Even then a mksysb recovery can fail. It is essential that you have your installation cd's...
