USB Drive Unable to mount as restricted user

I tried the different rights as you suggested with no luck. In desperation I figured I would try a Power User. However, not even a Power User can install this particular LEXAR device. I know that if I reimage this, the problem will go away. But will eventually come back. I can't seem to find...

USB Drive Unable to mount as restricted user

No luck. ntrights.exe +r SeLoadDriverPrivilege -u "Everyone" and ntrights.exe +r SeLoadDriverPrivilege -u "Users" They both report running successfully as an Admin user, however, plugging in the USB drive has the same results.

USB Drive Unable to mount as restricted user

I know it isn't an auto-play issue and I know it is a permissions issue. As for NTRIGHTS.EXE it appears to perform a similar function to Group Policies, so I've never had occasion to need it. I'll give it a shot, though. I'm assuming something like: ntrights.exe +r SeLoadDriverPrivilege "Users"

USB Drive Unable to mount as restricted user

This has been driving me crazy. All the lab machines at my site run as a restricted domain user. Some USB drives will work just fine. Mount, assign drive letter, and auto play. The problem I'm having is that a few thumb drives have recently started giving the message. "Unable to install new...

    Need help with group policy

On the Domain Controller you are running Active Directory from, you will also be running DNS from. The users that authenticate to you must use your Active Directory server as their Primary DNS entry. Look at this technet article and do a search for "Group Policy&quot...

    Need help with group policy

I agree with koquito. I pulled my hair out before I finally discovered that the workstations must point to the DC handing down the group policy for their primary DNS.

Need Help Installing Win2k Server on Proliant Ml530

What's the boot log say? Can you get to SM, or SM command prompt? Not sure what is dying for certain. Could be a Mass Storage controller issue. Boot log should tell more.

    Home directory problem...HELP

Its been my experience in dealing with Win9x clients and home directories that they are unable to map to a sub-root directory. I use the net use command to map them as far as the root net use m: \\server\home Then, they select their username out of the list of folders from there as their home...

    Convert FAT32 to NTFS

It has been my experience that FAT32 disks will read shares from NTFS with no trouble. This thread has been really helpful, btw, as I am looking to convert my PC to NTFS as well. It is far superior to FAT32 in many ways.

    cannot access FTP site

I had this exact same trouble. Running Win2k Server as the domain controller. To allow users to log on locally, I had to change the domain controller security policy. (Domain Controller Security Policy\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment) I did the following and it seemed...

    Kazaa under Win200

My recommendation is not to install Kazaa, its spyware. If your set on Kazaa, try Kazaa lite. Don't know how you'll solve the port issue, I didn't understand your problem.

    User context question

I am wondering if there is an Active Directory equivalent to the Novell Context. In Novell each user can be part of a context, or location. It is usually something like: .username.city.building This allows you to have several users that have the same login name (for instance 01, 02, 03) but have...
