Hello.
I need your help in this matter, please.
I have two different reports, but one must be printed in one specific printer and the other one in other different printer. I do not want the user have to change the default printer every time he needs to print.
Any clues?
Thanks
Frank, you gave me the right address to find the answer in the Form forum. But still I am interested to know about this. I tried to copy previous information in a Memo field of the first record to the following record through update query. The query worked well but the Memo field was truncated...
Hello everybody!
I want to do this.
I have a table with two records only; the table has a Memo field.
You open the form (for that table) and see the first record. You make changes in the Memo field.
The question.
How can I get updated the second record with the same information in the previous...
Hi, everybody.
I need your help, please. I have an update query with a Memo field. When I run it, I see it truncates my Memo field until 510 characters.
How can I fix this?
Thanks a lot.
Thanks to M8KWR and SarahG.
Let me tell you some more. The owner of the application wants to be able to change the message every one or two months without my help. But he does not want the users have to choose anything, only they enter visitor information and print, because speed is a matter.
I...
Hello every body!!
I have a report with a label containing a long message. It does not change because is permanent. The report is a permit and it is printed many times a day for many different people. Each permit has personal info and the same massage. Now the user wants to be able to change the...
PlumDingo,
the link you have is marvelous!!!
Go to Corp Tech Demos and download Corp Tech Demos. Then when you open it and the Main Menu (Business Results Demos Menu) appears, choose Calendar Format Report button and you will see what you are looking for. Think your days off like appointments...
Excellent, Duane, excellent!!!
Very ingenious. I am very sorprised with your neatness and simplicity of your reports.
Keep doing excellent. And thanks again. Your reports are teaching me a lot.
I want to thank Roy-Vidar for his comments and suggestions.
Many thanks to Richard. I appreciate your great links and explanation. Now I am reading all these excellent articles and saving all of them. Thanks. Next application I build I am going to try relationship directly without lookup fields...
I was not arguing I was asking.
Thanks to everybody for the interest to answer my questions.
Thanks to Richard for the interesting links and Roy-Vidar.
But LittleSmudge confused me.
I have built many applications for many small businesses all them very different and all them are working good. I...
RoyVidar,
the problem is now I am so confused and I don't know how true developer make the relationship between tables. The relationship is not made throu lookup fields? Or there is another way?
Thanks
I think the second way from Roy-Vidar is the easier way. Try it and you will see the very good results.
Make a query with the main table, add the Status table (lookup table), then add the Status field from the Status table (lookup table) to the report. That is all.
I don’t think the lookup field lies you, LittleSmudge, because you know the column width is set to 0”.
But this is a minor issue.
My concern is if you don’t like lookup fields, how do you create the link between the main table with the lookup table. To do this, don’t you need a lookup field?
Thanks
Now, LittleSmudge, I am very confused.
Tell me please what a Lookup field is.
Microsoft says this in the Help:
DisplayControl: Specifies the type of control (combo box or list box) that Access creates by default when you add a Lookup field (Lookup field: A field, used on a form or report in an...
I think itbeginner has a planning problem. He has to design in paper the whole process and think ahead about future needs.
But all of you have said some interesting things about look-up fields.
I always have used look-up fields in tables and never have had problems with them, in tables, queries...
I think you have a planning problem. I was wondering why you need to do many changes to a combo-box? And I think you need to understand the concepts of relationship and orphan records.
Nberryman and LittleSmudge gave you the answer for the first point. But I tell you if you want to delete...
