Yeh, found that saving the file file then opening works best.
It's not to do with activex or java as I've got those enabled.
I'm 100% (ish) certain that it's the content type that causes the problem.
When you opt 2 save the file does it suddenly bypass this ruleset??

Intermittently I've had this problem.
It's always been due to another com port being installed (virtual com ports mainly).
Do you have a modem or pda attached to this machine? $cd /pub

I've experienced this problem a lot.
It's always been due to the safe content/application type.
Many sites do not have pdfs encoded as application/pdf.
I've had to allow many different content types but when I added multipart/* most problems went away.

The problem as I understand it is that Watchguard process fully RFC compliant EMSTP whilst Microsoft make their own ESMPT headers.
Hence the firebox can't process them. :(
They try but are allways playing catchup to MS.
