Have you viewed the processes that are running when this happens? Do you have a virus scanner doing background scans?

As some others have said, it sounds like either a CPU, RAM, or Vid Crd problem. Also, I assume you've checked out the power output from the wall? Are you using a UPS?

Sounds to me like it may be overheating. Have you checked all the fans, especially the CPU fan. I'm sure your BIOS has a temp indicator as well.

Thanks I have solved the problem. The Error is due to the C compiler in the AIX4 .I download the patch package and fixed the C compiler. Now It's Ok.

But the httpd.conf is Auto_created when installing.and I find that now the apachectl can not explain the word </Directory>. In fact I have installed the apache successfully on Sloaris2.6, Now I wanna install it on IBM AIX and the error raised. What's the real reason? Thanks
