    My girlfriends Win95 pc is behaving strangly but the main problem is that she has to reboot two or three times before the modem will dial out. When I check the diagnostics, it will say "modem not responding". After a few restarts the diagnostics are fine. Its a Zoom V.34 model...

    Try going into ctrl panel/modems/properties/connection and uncheck "wait for dial tone before dialing" if its checked.
