we moved from nt4 to windows 2000. installed exchange on the 2000 server in the same organization and moved the mailboxs over. after a few weeks we took the exchange services off the nt box

I stopped all the arcserve services and moved everything in the jobs folder to another location. Then restarted the services and added the jobs again which I had saved earlier. You will need to recreate the prune job from the arcserve admin console.

Thanks Nauthiz. I ended up deleting everything in the jobs folder and recreating all the job. Restarting the server did not help as the job was still running when the server came up.

Thanks Alex. This is a new backup server I have just installed. When I had it running on the previous machine I could see sql and exchange databases through the client agents. I have installed arcserve sp4 and both machines are running windows 2000.

I have setup up a daily backup job on Arcserve 2000 with all the windows clients under the windows client list. The problem is I cant see sql and exchange server backup options from here but I can see them when I look through the newtork option under arcserve. Any ideas? Thanks.

Everytime I start the directory service I get two errors. event id 0 MSExchangeDS (45) -255 and event id 1002 the microsoft exchange server database (edb) could not be initialized and returned error -255. unrecoverable error, the directory can't continue. how do i enable data multiplex in arcserve 2000. i can see where the option is but it is greyed out.
