Problem opening a form based on record selection in a list box.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I still can't get it to work using either method. When I use the wizard to create a button to "open the form and find specific data to display" I can't see any of the fields that are in the listbox. The only thing that comes up is 'List0'. It's...

Great post. For the most part I got it to work beautifully. I do have a problem when entering date criteria such as '<1977' . It doesn't work when entered into the search form but the very same criteria entered into the query itself works. Thanks much, Trent

Help setting up multiuser ap - record locking trouble

Thanks, Tex. I've been experimenting with the fe - be routine and it seems to be the answer. Do you convert your front ends to .mde? Seems this is the route to go if you have inexperienced users. Also, have you found a solution to eliminate two different users from updating the same record...

    Error accessing file...

Great advice, Daniel! Sorry to take so long to respond. I've been on vacation. I definitely think this is the right track. The circumstances you describe having trouble with fit exactly. Unfortunately none of these seem to work completely. The problem may have to do with one of the forms...

Help setting up multiuser ap - record locking trouble

I've developed an application that needs to allow multiple user to access and edit records but when more than one tries to open it up they generally get an error message that says that records have been locked or placed in a "state" by another user. I think it's two different problems...
