    Site review please

Here are some ideas that might help. Forgive me if someone else mentioned them already: 1) I find the pop-up menu items a bit difficult to read due to the light blue box, maybe an even lighter blue or white background will make them stand out more 2) As mentioned, the drop down menus cover the...

    Site design length estimate

From a purely estimating CYA perspective and from years of project management experience, it is always a good idea to use the time and cost you think it will take and add 20% to your estimate. It usually helps. If you finish it earlier than estimated, all the better for you and the client.

Web Design, Usability and Applet Use ?

Just trying to get a general idea of whether or not other Web site designers use applets to do things like text scrolling or image rotation. Is this the easiest way to implement text effects or does anyone have any other ideas for a non-Flash site? Thanks.

    Site Review Please

Thank you, thank you, thank you - all of your comments are greatly appreciated! I just need a little bit of clarification: 1 - by background image, do you mean the animated .gif (rotating images). 2 - Color scheme: Believe it or not, the palette was not what I originally proposed to the...

    Site Review Please

This is my first big site for a client on my own (formerly a project manager for a web company)...now freelancing, working with another designer, writing content, editing and creating my own code. Please review and provide any suggestions for improvement. I have some ideas for Phase II already...

    User updates to site

Have you heard about or looked into Macromedia's soon to be available "new" product? Macromedia Contribute. It's not free but it pretty darn inexpensive at $99. If it works as promised it allows any user (I'd imagine with permissions set) to update, add and publish web content. I have...

What is the best to add fax capabilities/interface to a Website?

Thanks jvdbloom for your input. Could you explain the option for faxing through the modem on the webserver? If I understand this, it could also be a function of my host company. To clarify, the client wants to include a fax number and feature on it's web site yet he doesn't physically own a...

What is the best to add fax capabilities/interface to a Website?

I believe this is the correct forum for this question. I searched everywhere on TekTips and few other sites to gather some information on this topic and I am having very little luck finding a definitive answer/method. The question came from a potential client who wants to have fax capabilities...

    Review my project manager

I get "The page cannot be displayed." I would love to look at it though since I've only just started learning PHP.

Total beginner wanting to learn HTML and web design

This interactive HTML tutorial is good for a beginner -- very hands-on. Use the Try It Yourself option to get a feel for how the tags work. Each minichapter describes the how's, why's and what the code should look like. The site also features additional web design tips and a Javascript Guide...

    SITE REVIEW PLEASE!!!

Not sure if other's viewed the site in IE but the navigation buttons are a bit difficult to read, especially with the drop shadow. If you change the background color to a lighter gray, it may resolve the problem. However, I think the button color can be brighter and there is no need for the drop...

    Site Launch!!!

Nate, yes, I was referring to the spiral logo. The logo, being approximately the same size as the graphics, competes with the imagery. Hope that helps.

    Site Launch!!!

Good site. I only had a few minutes to look at this this morning, so here is what I have so far. These are only suggestions. I hope to get back to reviewing the site later. Splash Page Can you say Redesign instead of Re-Modeling (more people understand what is involved with redesign) Standard...

    site review please?

At first glance, I thought the FI (About) was F1 (Help) so I clicked on it and then discovered it was About Fractal Impact. You might indicate this is About FI. It was only after I clicked did I see the Help button on the top navigation. I also typically look for a back / forward button at the...

    E-commerce

I was going to recommend MIVA but Todd got to it before I did. I am working with MIVA right now for an e-commerce site and so far, they are great to work with, they offer a comprehensive package and you can keep your current host arrangements. Their backend features are extensive too (e.g...

    Site feedback

I viewed the home page and clicked through a bunch of other pages. I love the flash intro. My only comment on the home page is that the letters A, P, S, C, H do not mean anything unless you rollover them - therefore, from a usability standpoint they are not intuitive to all users. Based on...
