Nevermind. A colleague suggested trashing the Quark prefs, which I did. This eliminated this problem, which has been plaguing me since I installed Quark.

You need to make sure that the PostScript printer you are specifying is color (and as "onewrite" pointed out, the LaserWriter NT is not). Use Generic Color, if you don't know what else to use.
Regarding fonts... are you mixing TrueType and Type 1? Generally speaking, it is...
When creating a PDF, either using Distiller or directly from within Quark, my color images get lighter. My black & white images stay the same and look fine. But the color images get washed out.

When I use the option key to insert a special character (such as a bullet or ellipsis), Quark 6 inserts the character twice. I cannot find a preference or other setting that would make this happen, nor does it happen in any other program. I'm on a Mac, running 10.2.8.
