When I try to join an NT domain with a 2000 Server server, the following error occurs:
The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.
Have an NT and 2000 domain. Users authenticate through NT domain. Lately have following error. 'Failed to authenticate with \\2000 Server, a Windows NT Domain Controller domain 2000 domain.'
Help is much appreciated.

two domains, nt and 2000. each nt server can connect to each 2000 server except one. i brought it online this morning, a 2000 server. the nt servers can ping and attach to it via its IP address, but can't ping or attach using it's hostname.

Currently I am running an NT domain and a 2000(child domain). I will be copying some folers from the PDC to a 2000 Server.
Without having to remap users of the 2000 Server folders, is there a tool or script that will point the users from the old folder to the new?
We are currently using a desktop workstation (PIII 500mhz,128mb RAM, Windows 2000 Server OS)for a print server. The domain consists of approx 82 users and 26 printers. The majority of printers are hp laserjet 4 and laserjet 5.
