I have a PC running XP home that won't complete startup, safe mode has the same problem. I can get to a command prompt or task manager, but that's it.
It's an HP with a recovery partition, I'm trying to avoid having to recover XP as I'll have to go grab the disks from the guy. Any tips on...
I've seen this twice now, after loading Directx 9.0 the desktop and tasbar won't display. On startup, the taskbar appears for a second then goes away. Nothing is visible but the wallpaper. I'm waiting for the registry to back up and am going to try deleting the StuckRects key as explained in the...
Another Question for the VPN Gods, thanks to mhkwood for the last pointer to CMAK! It's working great!
As the VPN testing continues on XP Pro, I'm now getting an error 937 when multiple users try to connect. Both users are connecting via broadband.
Did I miss something in the setup?
Thanks...

Thanks for the tip, tsuji! I found a much more entailed Timer method that does the job but I like this one better. Will this work with Win98 machines?

Newbie to VBS -
I have a simple logon script that I have included in a Custom VPN connection using CMAK. The .vbs script works great when ran stand-alone after the VPN connection is established, but when included in the Custom Connection, even though set to run post-logon, it runs too soon...
Awesome! Almost got the job done, the .vbs script runs a little too fast after login and can't find the share. I tried a quick batch file, but it times out before the share is available to be mapped. If I run either the batch or the script after waiting a few more seconds they map the drive, so...
I have a VPN Server set up on XP Pro and am connecting with XP Pro and Win2k clients.
I'm trying to do the usual map drive routine and ran into the "login scripts don't run for remote users" wall and have looked for options.
I have a .vbs script file that can be ran from the client PC...

Here's a good site that's got info on other progs (trojans) that use port 1025:
http://www.commodon.com/threat/threat-ports.htm
1025 tcp blackjack network blackjack
1025 tcp FraggleRock [trojan] Fraggle Rock
1025 tcp listen listener RFS...
I'm getting incoming access attempts on 1025 too, also 1027.
Almost constant activity on the hardware firewall.
Doesn't appear to be getting through to the software firewall though.
According to the firewall status screen, the I.P. it's coming from is my AT&T Broadband DNS server???
No clue...
