I know I can look at the properties of a file to see everyone that has it checked out, but is there any way to see this information from the main GUI display as well? It's a tad annoying to see <user>,... instead of an entire list.
Thanks!
I've encountered the same problem two different ways, so the way you start up SourceSafe needs to be known. However, here's the "fixes" depending on your setup:
1) If you start SourceSafe from the command line, you need to create an environment variable (system type, not user) called...
There's a better way to do it, less work involved.
There is a registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SourceCodeControlProvider named ProviderRegKey. It's value currently is probably Software\Microsoft\SourceSafe since you're using SourceSafe. Just delete the value (don't delete the key)...
You need to edit the SrcSafe.ini file where the database is installed. Add a section to it as follows:
[Keyword Comments]
*.dat = "; "
You need to have the section heading so that your defined comment character is used correctly. I had to do this for Fortran file commenting and it...
Even though SourceSafe gives several competent keywords to use, is there a way to customize the ones given, or create your own?
For example, I really like the $Log keyword, but instead of giving me:
2 10/16/01 8:22am Jdoe
Can I define it to give me:
Version 2 2001/10/16 08:22:14 Jdoe
Thanks.
