Found a freeware program that worked just great! You guys got me on the right track. The program I found is "Disk Investigator" and it's at: http://www.theabsolute.net/sware/dskinv.html
I'd enjoy reading any thoughts the rest of you have on this.
While cleaning up a machine for client who bought a used machine 6 months ago, I deleted the old user only to find that my client had been saving all her baby's pictures for the past 6 months logged as the old user. She's hysterical. Is there any wild solution out there?
And now it won't allow her to log in at her machine, even when I change the password, as it worked before. But she can still log in from other machines in the office.
This is getting weirder. I changed her password at the W2K server, and required her to change it when she logged back in. She did that. And she changed it to her original password. This worked OK for 2 days. Now she can't log in again. [BTW, I did delete the .pwl file the first day. Thanks...
Thanks for all the replies. Out of desperation, I did change her password, and then require her to change it again when she next logged in. She changed it back to same as it was to begin with, and now she can log into her own machine again.
I'm going to look into the part of the Active...
As mentioned in the title, it's a Win98 workstation. Why would the server indicate that the password given is not acceptable for the domain. It works OK from every other workstation.
This is maddening! One of our workers can log into the domain from any other computer, other than her own. And anyone else can log onto the domain from her computer. But she can't log on at her own workstation. Is this possible? It's a W2K Server, with only one Domain.
Right now I have to find a quick way to do a backup of about 40GB of data (image); find why I'm loading the system with system errors every 8 hours in the System event log: and get two large SCSI drives installed with a RAID controller to eliminate downtime. I can't find a way to get all these...
I have a small company network that is running Windows 2000 Server. The system is running, but there are issues. I'd like to find a highly experienced IS specialist who does live support, via phone. Any suggestions?
