    also the DVI and LCD combo will be easier on your eyes. I have a Hyundai L90D+ lcd monitor with a 8ms response time, it works great with all games, it has the dvi input and my video card has a dvi output

    With 98 did you have to install drivers to get it to recognize the cdrw? Maybe try reinstall?

    I take it you have tried a different video card.. If the fans turn on and you can get a post beep out of it the PSU sounds good. Maybe try a cheap old pci video card?

    Check your Direct X compatibility. If you run a higher Direct X than your onboard graphics can handle it could possible reboot
